Dillatude The Flight of Titus

On stands now…issue 41 from my favorite magazine out there, Waxpoetics. This is the third hip-hop issue and it features two separate front and back cover images (I’ll definitely try to get my hands on both, it’s the collector in me). Ice Cube and Ice-T (West) on one, KRS-One and EPMD (East) on the other, each being legends in the game. Go support, and be sure to check out the Waxpoetics Storefront, there you can find anything from records, digital downloads, books, dvd’s, cd’s, tees, etc!

I’ve been waiting for the second official release from Madvillain, well they finally released a single from the upcoming album. This is sounding pretty dope! I expected nothing less. The German sample that they used is craaaaazy!
Madvillain / Papermill

Madlib Medicine Show 5 / The latest installment to the “Madlib Medicine Show” series is #5, which is an archive of his beats created between 1990 and 2000. I heard it and was once again blown away by how nice Madlib is with the beats! I had to share a few of my favs from this record here on the site. You can purchase the album from the Stones Throw online store.
Madlib / Episode VIII
Madlib / Episode XI
Madlib / Nothing From Nothing
Madlib / Episode XVI

My condolences go to the Elam family. Guru (Keith Elam) was a member of one of my favorite hip-hop groups, Gang Starr…he passed away April. 19, 2010 at the age of 43. Rest in Peace Guru. The music will live on.

“B” is for Back At It! After my site was hacked about two weeks ago (and shut down by Google for safety reasons), I’m back with a slightly refreshed look and some new content. Everything is back to normal, so continue to check back for updates…and be on the lookout for a special collaboration project that’s soon to come!

Back At It / April 15th Theme

Observe this one, it’s hands down one of the best album covers ever. Obscure funk/soul group representing the UK, The Power Pack. This cover is from their 1969 release Soul Cure.
THE STUYVESANTS ON EAST VILLAGE RADIO
That’s me on the left! Hahaha…we (The Stuyvesants) were invited by DJ Jon Oliver to come and do a guest spot on his set, The Main Ingredient on East Village Radio last night (BIG shout out to Jon!). We had a blast answering questions, talking about the album, art, life, and good music. If you missed it, you can check it out here.
By the way, our listening party for “The Stuyvesants” album will be held this Friday, August 13th at CLOUD in Bed-Stuy…hit me up for details! Hope you all can come out…
Peace.
